A pair of small, fully framed lithographic prints depicting Chicago in the 1920's. One celebrates the centennial of the CTA Loop L this image is by Arthur A Johnson from 1926 and was reprinted in 1997. The second is from Paul Proehl, and is a reprint from the Illinois Central Railroad in the 1920's.
These transportation prints from Chicago, done in an Art Deco advertising style from the 1920-1930's. What makes these so desirable is that they are small (8x10) and can be used in a number of spaces and decorating styles, from giving a door a pop of color, decorating those small half baths or giving visual energy to a nook office space. Both are from noted artists so that is another added benefit, and of course, people love travel and transportation themed images. This are fun.
Both images are framed and matted rail transportation (one the L train and one railroad) reprints of vintage images. Both are in metal black framed with cream mats under glass. Both have foam core backing with wire hanging hardware. Both are excellent for small spaces as framed they are 8.5x10 with the interior color image 4x7. Images, mats, frames, glass and backing are in excellent condition. Hanging weight of each is 1 lb, 8 oz.
