We certainly hope so! But as many of our pieces are purchased from third parties, or dug out of barns, estate sales and other places, so many have little background information making provanance scarce.

While we do a lot of research, and try to piece the history together, as well as looking at "right" for both image and signature unless we can say without a shade of doubt, an item is from an artist we indicate what name is on the item. Since we often have a limited definative history, our prices reflect that limited information.

All Contre Le Mur art offerings are measured the following way:

All art is measures width (w) x height (h) in inches.

Framed art (also the framed measurement) is measured (w) x (h) to the OUTSIDE edge of the frame. This is done so that you can determine if it will fit in your space.

The Image measurement for framed art is measured (w) x (h) in inches to the first mat. This is so you can determine how much of the frame contains images and how much is matting.

For unframed art, it is measured (w) x (h) edge to edge, if there is white space around the image, that size will be noted in the description.

Occassionally we do. It is rare but when a piece is in a extra large, lower quality frame, or the frame has sustained damaged beyond hope of reasonable repair we will consider removing it and selling it unframed. When we do this, it will list as "unframed" and the images on site will reflect that listing.

Our goal is to keep the piece with its frame, as frames protect the images, and when original are integral to the artists overall vision for the work.

However when a frame is very heavy, bulky or large, we will show the work with the frame and allow the buyer to determine if they want us to send the image without the original frame. Its up to you.

Clifford's Picks will always be identified by the blue banner on the top left and the picture of Clifford giving a thumb's up at the bottom. Clifford's Picks all have 10% of your purchase price (regardless of regular or sale) given to the Washington DC Humane Alliance. You don't have to do anything to have that donation done, its all behind the scenes! And Clifford says "thank you"

Unlike ebay and other platforms, Contre Le Mur's noted prices are final, but that doesn't mean a pice might not be put on sale! Remember that you are not paying for shipping, nor often are you paying to frame or mat your purchase.

Contre Le Mur continuously researches and updates its information, and then passes that new information onto you through the description. When we are able to finalize a provenance we will note that with an icon

With our sales, we automatically will lower the price so that the final price includes the discounts.

Yes, please contact us within 7 days of receipt to let us know you intend to return, and complete the return within 30 days.

At Contre Le Mur we move pretty quickly as all of our inventory is "in house". Therefore to cancel an order, please notify us within 24 hours of purchase.

Yes, at the time of order please place a note in the instructions section, letting us know where it will go, when it should ship and if you would like a special invoice without prices and noting the receipants special event!

At this time Contre Le Mur is not set up to handle gift cards. Please check back with us in the future!

Framed artwork is face covered with cardboard, edge protected, shrinkwrapped to protect against water damage, then bubblewrapped before being placed in its shipping box. Boxes are cardboard and all voids are filled before sealing.

Finally fragile stickers abound on our packaging!

Unframed items may be shipped flat or tube rolled depending upon the type of image. When tube rolled, images are front faced with paper so they do not rub themselves in transit.

Contre Le Mur has all items in house, and strives to provide lightening fast shipping. Therefore it is likely that your puchase will go out the same or next day. Once it has left the building we cannot make changes to orders or shipping addresses without it becoming a return.

A qualified yes, depending on the size and fragile nature of the order. Some items simply won't play well with others during shipping. Please make a comment in the order instruction section that you would like to combine shipping if possible. We will do our best to accomodate you. If we have questions, please assure you have a number we can contact you for further information as we package your order.

Contre Le Mur NEVER EVER EVER will sell your personal information. We don't like it either! Contre Le Mur's website is SSL protected (see the HTTPS in the address, thats how you can tell a site is SSL protected). When a piece of art sells we will often blog a New Home Alert to share with our community that another piece has found its forever home. In that blog there is no personally identifable informatiohn shared, unless we get your conset before. We take your privacy seriously.
