A fan of cats and all things feline? This is for you! A 1963 Nina Leen (1914-1995), sepia toned reproduction photograph from "The Life Picture Collection" titled Cat Peering into Glass, with COA on back. Nina Leen, born in Russia, grew up in Europe and was generally self-taught as a photographer. Her animal photographs caught the attention of staff at the Life magazine, where she was a contracted photographer from 1940 through 1972 when the magazine ceased production.  This productivity included 50 covers and countless photographic essays from around the world.  After her time with Life, Leen continued to publish two books a year, including a key work on bats.

Cool fact 101, while Nina Leen's main area of note was animal photography, her work with the human subject was highly regarded enough that Carl Sagan selected one of her works, featuring four generations of an Ozark family to be included on the Voyager space probe, as a image of who those who inhabit Earth are. Pristine image, mat, glass and frame. Black flat modern frame, double matted, under glass. Back dust cover has Certificate of Authenticity, sawtooth hanging hardware. Framed 15.25"x12.25", image 9x7.  This image will fit in a clean modern minimalist home or as part of a gallery wall.  And of course, it’s a rare and special treat for a fan of female photographers or/and cats.
