This original image by the Mississippi artist Nadine Stamm (1928-2012) is a case of right medium for the right effect, if you have ever been to the bayou's of Mississippi in the summer it is so hot and humid that the world feels a bit less focused.  Ms Stamm's use of watercolor on paper and background brushwork all that feeling to come through.  Your standing there, looking at the brown pelican and you can feel the heat, feel the humidity.  Look long enough and you may want an sun brewed sweet tea and to change your shirt because you feel sticky.  Ms. Stamm studied fashion design along with creating art, which allowed her to be very intentional in how this piece works from close up and from a distance, its a piece which wears well on any wall.  The muted greens and rich browns will go with most color tones and the black metal framed all in size of 14x11 will fit  in a variety of spaces that would swallow a smaller print but be overwhelmed by a larger.  This piece is both well executed and has so much character.
