When is an artist not an artist?  When decorative art meets social expectations.  This lovely oil on canvas is signed by Marie Chalot, but its commonly accepted that she did not exist and rather this is an oil from a group of Asian artists who used the name on French Impression style works, landscapes and cityscapes for the company Collectors Corner Inc. between 1960-1970.  The artists who created this work understood that putting an Asian signature on a "French" work for the US market would potentially disinterest buyers so they created a name which sounded more acceptable.

"Marie's" created a large body of work, mostly oils and is a wonderful price conscious option to update and upgrade your walls.  This unframed piece is 20x24 and is in exceptional clean and well executed condition.  A great piece of decorative art with a story behind it you can share with family and friends.
