Part of the artist Biography from the Adobe Gallery in Santa Fe "Ed Jojola,(Indian Name is SHIRPOYO which means Colors In The Sunrise) born August 30, 1938, is from Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico. Isleta, which means "Little Island" (Spanish for islet) was given its name by the conquering Spaniards due of its location on a tongue of land projecting from the east bank into the Rio Grande."

The artist often paints in minature, scenes from the tribal life.  This piece is wooden framed with linen mat in burlap pattern.  Frame and mat augment the rustic southwest feel of this piece.  The painting is in excellent vintage condition, some small scrapes from use on wooden frame.  Hanging hardware and gallery tag on back.
