The absolute charm of this piece is that we have all had those moments when we felt the job was going well or done, only for us to find out that we hadn't hit the "save" button or done some major step, which put us back to the beginning. We can all relate to the experience this gardener will soon face, if they are able to spot the wily crow. If they don’t see their gardening nemesis, they will be cultivating seeds that will never grow and wondering why. Sometimes we see our gremlins while other times they just hide in the shadows, leaving us to ponder "what happened?".
This sweet and poignant ode to futility is most appropriately titled “Loves Labours Lost” the artist has signed and titled the image at the bottom right in pencil JN. The print is smaller at 4”x4” but is put into a larger crisp white mat to highlight the colors in the image. The mat and image are framed in a sleek modern bronze metal frame, with foamboard backing.
